The ketogenic diet is all about high-fat and low-carbs. There are many health benefits that present themselves when people complete this diet appropriately. To improve health and lose weight, this lifestyle change can combat cancer, diabetes, and more.

Knowing The Basics Of Keto

Keto has many similarities to diets like low-carb and Atkins. By getting to ketosis, a person can turn fats into positive energy for the brain. When on the Keto diet, you cannot have sugary foods, grains, fruit, condiments, and starches, to name a few. In turn, you can have meat, fatty fish, eggs, butter, cream, cheese, healthy oils, nuts, seeds, avocados, and more.

Planning Your Week

When starting this diet, it can be hard to plan out things, but a typical day of eating can still give you a lot of nutrients and energy. For breakfast, you could make an egg omelet with basil, tomatoes, and spinach. A typical lunch could be chicken salad with a little feta cheese, olives, and olive oil. At the end of the day, make some pork chops with Parmesan cheese, salad, and broccoli. It is planning like this that can still fill you up, but allow you to lose more pounds.

Snacking

Olives on the plate

You can snack during Keto as well. Some of the snacks you could try to include olives, dark chocolate, bell peppers, guacamole, and more. With most diets, snacking is not a thing you can do. But, with Keto, you have the freedom and flexibility to have success on the diet and still get filled up.
