40+ Celebrities Who Are Best Friends!

By Larissa C

Can you imagine your life without your best friend? We can’t either! It’s not hard to admit that we all need to have a friend who’s always there for us through the ups and downs of life. Friendships make life a little brighter, a little better, and a little crazier.

Best friends are like siblings from another mother, and the bond shared between friends is incomparable. Having that one person with whom you can share your deepest thoughts, your secrets, and your most sincere laughs is, honestly, one of the best things in life. We all need a best friend. And so do celebrities!

It’s not hard to forget that celebrities are humans just like us and that they need the same comfort and connections that we, regular people, need. Celebrities, too, need someone who they can rely on, and it probably feels nicer to share a connection with people who understand exactly what they go through every day.

In this article, we’re going to show over 40 pairs of celebrities who are best friends!

Penelope Cruz & Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz are two of the most famous actresses of Hispanic descent in Hollywood — and they’re also best friends! The Spanish and the Mexican stars first met in 2001, and their friendship is still going strong 19 years later.

Although they’ve known each other for a long time, the duo has only starred together in one movie: Bandidas. Proof that their bond is “friendship goals” is that Cruz was part of Hayek’s wedding party, and they dress up for Halloween together, as Penelope revealed in an interview with People.

Naomi Watts & Nicole Kidman

Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman share a similar journey to stardom, with both leaving Australia to become some of the biggest names in Hollywood. But there’s another thing they have in common: Nicole and Naomi attended the same high school in Sydney, and that’s where they first met.

However, their friendship didn’t take off until 1991, when they starred in the Australian film Flirting. Since then, the pair have been inseparable, always posting cute pictures together and celebrating each other’s birthdays. On Nicole’s 52nd birthday, Naomi wrote: “growing up with you, having you close, has been one of the more meaningful aspects of this journey.” Cute, right?

Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale

Contrary to their infamous on-screen rivalry in the High School Musical franchise, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens have always been really close off-screen. What many people think, however, is that Tisdale and Hudgens developed their friendship after meeting on the set of the movie — but that’s not how they met!

Ashley revealed in an interview that she met Vanessa when they worked together on a commercial before they got cast for the iconic roles of Sharpay Evans and Gabriella Montez. Their connection never wavered through the years, and the pair is still close to this day — Vanessa Hudgens was even a bridesmaid at Tisdale’s wedding!

Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio

It’s safe to say that every single one of us who watched Titanic has rooted for Leo and Kate’s romance to blossom off-screen as well. While that hasn’t happened, we can still appreciate the fact that these two incredibly talented actors are the best of friends in real life!

After meeting on the set of the unforgettable romance movie, Winslet and DiCaprio immediately connected and became really close. The duo never wastes an opportunity to gush about each other and how amazing they are, which just proves how strong and special their friendship truly is.

Sophie Turner & Maisie Williams

Game of Thrones introduced the world to unforgettable characters such as Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister, and Jon Snow. However, in addition to the grown-ups on the show, the Stark siblings Arya and Sansa also captured fans’ hearts — and the actresses who portrayed them took their bond off-screen, too!

Over the 8 years in which GoT was filmed, we’ve watched Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams grow up in front of the cameras. The pair became best friends while shooting the show, as they bonded over things such as adolescence and mental health. Their friendship is so strong that the young actresses even got matching tattoos together!

Another pair of bombshell actresses whose friendship developed after meeting on-set is Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips. Though many people may not know about this, Michelle and Busy share one of the strongest bonds in Hollywood, and they’ve been best friends for almost two decades now!

The pair met on the set of the hit show Dawson’s Creek, and they immediately hit it off. According to Phillips, the two of them shared a close connection from the very start, almost like love at first sight. Taylor Swift & Camila Cabello

Taylor Swift is notorious for nurturing a large group of friendships with some of the most famous celebrities in Hollywood. We wouldn’t be surprised if most people in the entertainment industry secretly wished they could be Taylor’s friends. Camila Cabello did, and her wish came true!

Before Cabello rose to fame, she was just a regular fangirl who put up posters of her favorite artists on her bedroom walls. Taylor Swift was on one of those posters. After Camila joined Fifth Harmony, the girl group joined Swift on tour. It was then that Camila’s dream of becoming Taylor Swift’s friend came true. And they’ve been inseparable since then! Monét and Grande’s friendship began before the latter had even reached the peak of her fame. Ariana was still an actress on the Nickelodeon show Victorious when she met Victoria. The two have become really close since then, and Victoria even co-wrote some of Grande’s most popular songs, such as Honeymoon Avenue and 7 Rings.

Beanie Feldstein and Ben Platt are another pair of friends who met before hitting the spotlights. The actors first met at a friend’s Bar Mitzvah and reconnected again in high school, which was when their bond became really strong.

The pair even attended prom together! According to an interview the duo gave to Vanity Fair, Platt asked Feldstein to prom using lyrics from Funny Girl. How sweet is that?

Lili Reinhart & Camila Mendes

Unlike other celebrities who met and instantly connected, Riverdale stars Lili Reinhart, and Camila Mendes didn’t become friends immediately. Though there was no beef between the young actresses, they said that it took a while for their bond to develop.

Lili and Camila met on the set of Riverdale. However, unlike castmates Madelaine Petsch and Vanessa Morgan, it took the duo almost a year before they finally realized that they had more things in common than they had initially thought. Thankfully, the pair became the best of friends and have given fans a bunch of sweet moments together!

Before they were one of the sweetest couples in the music industry, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were, and still are, the best of friends. According to Shawn, Camila was the only person who actually spoke to him on tour, and that’s partially why they became so close so quickly. The pair would hang out backstage and write songs together. Over the past few years, they openly supported each other when releasing new songs and when Camila left her former girl group.

You know what they say about life imitating art? Well, it certainly happened with Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox, who played best friends Monica and Rachel in the iconic 90s sitcom Friends. Aniston and Cox first met on the set of the show, back in 1994. Their bond developed and strengthened as they filmed the show, and the two are occasionally spotted hanging out and traveling together. The most significant proof of the depth of their relationship is that Aniston is the godmother of Cox’s daughter, and Courteney was a bridesmaid at Jennifer’s wedding to Justin Theroux.

Perhaps one of the biggest proofs that Nina and Julianne are bonded for life is the fact that Julianne once left her own launch party to take care of Nina. The latter was going through a difficult moment in her life and texted her friend, who immediately flew to Nina’s rescue.

It seems almost like a dream that two of Hollywood’s most handsome men are good friends, but it’s true. George Clooney and Brad Pitt met on the set of the 2001 movie Ocean’s Eleven, and their friendship took off after that.

According to Matthew, he saw Fieri’s show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on TV and became obsessed with it. He managed to get Guy’s number, and the two of them had dinner together.
